Comunicado de Lantica Media sobre caso Película “Geechee”
En la noche del 2 de septiembre, un miembro del equipo de la película “Geechee”, que hacía un scout para la película, resultó herido por agentes de la Fuerza Dominicana de Control de Drogas (DNCD).
El hecho fue resultado de un operativo encubierto realizado por agentes de la DNCD en las inmediaciones y se considera un caso de confusión de identidad.
El hecho ocurrió durante el toque de queda impuesto por el gobierno dominicano para el control del COVID-19. Los miembros del equipo tenían todos los permisos correspondientes emitidos por las autoridades.
El miembro del equipo fue trasladado de inmediato a un hospital cercano, donde fue atendido y dado de alta varias horas después fuera de todo riesgo.
Debido a estos desafortunados eventos, AGC Studios anunció que la producción se suspendió hasta nuevo aviso.
Lantica Media ha solicitado una investigación exhaustiva a las autoridades nacionales. Las autoridades han cooperado y están trabajando para garantizar que un incidente similar no vuelva a ocurrir en el futuro.
Para Lantica Media, la máxima prioridad es garantizar la seguridad y el bienestar de sus producciones, siendo esta la primera vez que un evento de esta naturaleza ocurre en las más de 50 producciones de Lantica desde su creación.

Geechee Oficial Statement from Lantica Media
On the night of September 2, a crew member of the film ‘Geechee’, who was scouting for the film, was injured by agents of the Dominican Drug Control Forces (DNCD).
The incident was the result of an undercover operation carried out by DNCD agents in the vicinity and is considered to be a case of mistaken identity.
The incident occurred during the curfew time imposed by the Dominican government for the control of COVID-19. The crew members, who were scouting for the film, had all the proper permits issued by the authorities.
The crew member was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated, and released several hours later out of risk.
Due to these unfortunate events AGC Studios announced that production has been suspended until further notice.
Lantica Media has requested a thorough investigation from the national authorities. The authorities have been cooperative and are working to ensure that a similar incident does not happen again in the future.
For Lantica Media, the top priority is to guarantee the safety and well-being of its productions, this being the first time that an event of this nature has occurred in any of the 50 plus productions serviced by Lantica since its inception.
