Description
The Eduardo Brito National Theater is one of the most emblematic buildings in the country and the main art venue in Santo Domingo. Its architecture is extremely interesting, since the theater‘s design was created by its architect based on a peculiar work formula: to observe different theaters in Europe, Latin America and the US and determine the things that hadn‘t been resolved with efficiency to then employ an effective solution in the local design; This is why the National Theater has the most advanced elements and techniques of construction known at the time, as well as an authentic essence of Dominicanness.
The theater has four spaces: Carlos Piantini‘s Room with capacity for 1,589 people, Ravelo‘s Room with capacity for 189 people, Aida Bonelly de Díaz‘s Room with capacity for 228 people and the Juan Lockward bar.
